Roger K. Miller - VA Holstein Member Spotlight
Roger K. Miller
Virginia Holstein Member Spotlight
Born and raised in a large family in Batavia, New York, the LONG, cold, snowy winters got to be too much for Roger. The different seasons in beautiful Virginia seemed to be the best place to call home. As a 4th generation Holstein dairy farmer, it was natural for Roger to continue his love for the Holstein cow by becoming a member of the Virginia Holstein Association.
Even though his education was in Business Administration, agriculture was always where his interest continued to be strong. After 15 years in the dairy business, Roger continued his career as a mechanic for JD/ construction/ industrial equipment. This provided the knowledge he would need for his career as an auctioneer of equipment and cattle. After 22 years with Ownby Auction & Realty, retirement was not something that agreed with Roger, so he opened an auction company, Roger K. Miller Auctions, LLC, in order to continue doing the things he loved most of all – auctioneering and meeting new and old friends across the state.
New York’s loss was Virginia’s gain!
